Rustic Country Wedding in Ste. Genevieve
It was overcast, sprinkling a little bit, and rather chilly for an early October day in Ste. Genevieve, MO.
But Marisa and Patrick’s wedding was so sweet and emotional, not to mention how hilarious the wedding party was.
Marisa was getting ready at their parents’ house. When the bridesmaids were helping her get dressed, her mom was tearing up with joy. Nobody was speaking, but it was such a quietly emotional moment. As a wedding photographer, I LOVE moments like this, so raw, so intimate, and I wouldn’t miss them for the world.
And Marisa was absolutely GORGEOUS!
The ceremony was at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. We did some wedding party portraits at the church before the ceremony. Don’t you just adore the flower girl and the ring-bearer?
If you want to know how the ceremony went, just take a look at one of the groomsmen. (Do I need to point him out to you?) Poor guy. Bless his soul. Haha.
When the ceremony was over and after the family formals, we headed to Marisa’s uncle’s house. There was a big old barn that Marisa wanted to use as a backdrop.
Did I mention the wedding party was hilarious? It just made my job so much easier.
And then we just went from there, making a few stops on our way to the reception.
The reception was at Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall. I loved how everything was so country, so full of personality. On the side of the groom’s cake, it says “The hunt is over” in case you can’t see it clearly. Patrick loves to hunt and, of course, now that he’s caught the one thing he’s always wanted, he can rest content from here on out.
The reception was so emotional that Marisa couldn’t contain herself and had tears in her eyes the whole time. Poor girl! It just shows how much these two are in love with each other.
You can watch a slideshow paired a song that I think fits perfectly with their wedding HERE.
