Brad met Kate at his brother’s wedding. Two years later they celebrated their own at the beautiful Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Charles. It was exceptionally hot for an early summer day and we were expecting thunderstorms. But we lucked out. We couldn’t expect a more gorgeous day for their wedding!
Kate was absolutely stunning today. And look at that ring!!! The ceremony took place at the rustic St. Cletus Catholic Church, with a live band. When he saw Kate for the first time, Brad smiled like a baby who received the Christmas gift that he had long hoped for!
After the ceremony, we drove to Lewis & Clark Boathouse on the Missouri River for portraits. Then we headed to the Old Hickory Golf Club for some more pictures before the reception started. The wedding party were surely a goofy bunch. Kate and Brad were so much in love that you couldn’t possibly miss it in any picture.
I have to mention one very smart idea that Kate and Brad had for the reception. Instead of plain boring table numbers, they paired them with photos of them at that age. For instance, if you were sitting at Table 18, you’d see a picture of 18-year-old Kate and a picture of 18-year-old Brad side by side. How cool was that?!
Anyway, joined by more than 500 friends and family, their reception at Old Hickory Golf Club was full of laughter and happy tears. Take a look at Kate and her father’s first dance. When the music just started, Kate’s father took a photo out of nowhere and showed it to her. Both of them instantly bursted into tears! It was a photo of the teenager Kate dressed up in a wedding gown for Halloween! As one of the best editorial+documentary wedding photographers in St. Louis, I live for moments like this!!!
Here are highlights of the day. Enjoy!
